Description

The Ferrari 599 GTO (Gran Turismo Omologata) is one of the most iconic modern Ferraris, launched in 2010 as a road-legal version of the track-only 599XX, born only for track uses, instead. Only 599 units were built worldwide The design focused on reducing weight compared to the standard 599 GTB, thanks to the use of thinner glass but also of aluminum and carbon fiber for the body, or thanks to the use of Alcantara, "3D fabric" and carbon fiber racing seats for the interior. One of its most visible innovations was the F1-derived "Wheel Doughnuts", discs positioned outside the brakes that reduce drag while pulling hot air away from the brakes. Many versions of 599 GTO featured a distinctive matte black roof and matte finishes, distinguishing them from the more elegant GTB "Fiorano" model.
