Suspended inspiration: shapes that float The name Nuvola is not accidental: the soft, organic lines recall the hypnotic floating of clouds in the sky, as if the sofa were suspended by invisible bonds. The internal shell, made of light alloys derived from aeronautics, guarantees a perfect balance between strength and lightness. The large seat cushion, in differentiated-density foam rubber, is upholstered in fine Made in Italy selections – technical or decorative fabric, matt or glossy aniline natural leather, ultra-short pile velvet – chosen for strength and comfort. The concealed supports ensure stability, while the sinuous curves envelop the body in a continuous caress, elevating the environment with an impalpable aesthetic. The creative process The genesis of Nuvola stems from a shared intuition between the designers and Mavimatt’s master craftsmen: to translate the sensation of suspension and softness of clouds into a furnishing object. The process begins with the digital modelling of a fluid volume, devoid of edges, designed to suggest perpetual movement. Thanks to rapid prototyping, different curvatures and foam mixtures were tested and subjected to rigorous strength and comfort tests. Months of refinements led to the perfect harmony between support and cosiness, resulting in a unique design. Craftsmanship and materials of excellence Every Nuvola is handmade by expert upholsterers, embodying the excellence of Made in Italy. The internal frame is made of light alloys derived from aeronautics, ensuring durability without weighing down the structure. The differentiated density foam offers calibrated ergonomics, gently adapting to posture. The upholstery, which can be fully customised, comes from certified, sustainable suppliers: aniline leather, velvets and technical-decorative fabrics, all selected to withstand daily use and reduce environmental impact.
